The font represents the digital incarnation of a lighting installation that was exhibited on the facade of the legendary 'Haus des Lehrers' building in Berlin during the winter of 2000/2001. The windows of the top 8 floors of that building form a matrix of 8x18 pixels upon which the Blinkenlights design is based.
